The former Sampdoria striker went public and stated that he was no longer required at Inter Milan, he further went on to state that Massimo Moratti had already decided to exclude him from the project they are undergoing. He also
stated that he felt excluded from the plan and there was not an effort being made to make him feel part of the new project underway.
Stramaccioni was asked what he had to say about the outburst by their striker, and the 36-year-old went on to state that there must be a reason why he is feeling the way he is. Regarding his conflicts with the Nerazzurri president,
Stramaccioni went on to state that Moratti had every right to make the decision he feels will most benefit the club.
The young coach distanced himself from any transfer talk by stating that he is not responsible for the arrivals and departures of players. However, he stated that he holds the former Sampdoria star in high regard and went on to
comment:
"As the coach of Inter I cannot put myself in charge of the budget and decide who goes and who stays, but I can certainly say that I have the utmost respect for Pazzini and that Inter come before everything else."
The Nerazzurri head coach was talking to La Domenica Sportiva and he laid out his opinions on Pazzini’s future with the club.
There has been speculation linking Mattia Destro with a move to Inter. The Siena striker was instrumental in Siena’s campaign last season under Giuseppe Sannino. Destro impressed Stramaccioni with his performances last season,
and went on to state:
"He's a striker who put himself in the spotlight last year. His goals speak for him. He's among the most popular names of the transfer market and I know him well."
Destro conceded that he is looking forward to playing for a big club, and urged the Robur to consider offers that were on the table.
