I woke up saturday morning smelling a strange burning smell, and I can't find the source. Yesterday I unplugged everything before I left for the day, but when I got back the smell was still there. I can't give many details because I just dont have any. And I know it's hard to give suggestions without actually being here, but do you have any ideas? It kind of smells like burnt hair.

  1. lol have u checked 2 c if it was ur own hair burning?

  2. When an electronic item burns out or short circuits it can create a burning smell.  This burning smell can come from ANYWHERE.  If your computer is really warm when you turn it off it could be burning hair or other things in or near the power supply.  That smell would stick around for days.  If your computer isn't the culprit then look at all your electrical sockets.  Look for dark spots on your plugs and switches that would show an arc or blown circuit.  The last place you might think about and it is only last because it is generally hard to get to, if you have an air conditioner is running there are a couple of things that can cause burning smells related with your A/C unit.  Don't know if this will help but I hope it does
