Strange Dreams About Recently Deceased Relative?

Well, about 5 or 6 months ago, a beloved grandmother of mine passed away. Being 14 and her eldest granddaughter, many people in my family believe that I was her favorite relative and granddaughter, since she helped look after me for all my life when my family was having a bit of a struggle.

Anyways, the day before she died, she called and left a message about how she would like to talk to my mom for a bit about her friend's taxes were finished, but no one answered. I told myself I'd call her tomorrow, but then when I woke up, I found she had passed from heart attack and I was devastated.

Anyways, that might help explain a few things about why I dream so much about her, because she was there for my entire life and then just gone. In my dreams, shes there with me, but never talks. If I ask her a question of some sort, she kind of talks back with hand gestures and signs. Never speaks. She's just there.

What I'm trying to ask is how could it be that we don't talk? Is she watching over me?

One thing you could try, if you could maintain enough lucidity in the dream state, is to ask questions that could be answered "yes" or "no."  Tell her to point upwards for yes, and downwards for no, and then ask questions to see if you can narrow in on what she's trying to tell you.
