Strange bug bites on me and my kids...?

Question

It started a few days ago when I noticed a big bite on the inside of my son's thigh. I thought it might be a spider bite as it was way bigger than any mosquito bite I have seen. A few days later I noticed some bites on myself. On my ankles mostly. Then the next day I had some on the inside of my arms and the next day got one giant one on my neck near my ear and several smaller ones on my wrists and chest and even one in between my fingers which is SO uncomfortable. My kids all have them too but only on their ankles and their stomach/back/butt. My husband does not have them at all.

I researched scabies and it doesn't look like the pictures I found. They are not like mosquito bites either - smaller mostly and the larger ones are very lumpy like.

we have been at the beach a lot lately - maybe they are sand flea bites?

I cleaned all our sheets yesterday in case it was a bug in our bed...

They are SO uncomfortable and topical lotions is just not helping much.

It honestly sounds like you have a flea problem.  The same thing happened in my house when we had fleas and the areas you described the bites sound also very similar to the areas fleas bite.  You may need to hire a bug man to come bomb the house for a day.

try using borax on the floors.borax is just a comin household detergent.get along the edges mostly,aka baseboards.let sit couple days then vacuum.

It could be fleas, or possibly even sand crabs. But I highly doubt it.

Sounds like a flea infestation. Fleas jump up from the carpet onto your ankles, bite, then jump back into the carpet, bedding,etc.  They then lay 1000's of eggs, and the problem gets worse.  Wash and change all the bed linen, and wash any mats.  I had this happen once at my house, and we had to flea bomb the house, because the fleas were in the carpet.  You can buy flea bombs from the supermarket.  If you use them read the instructions carefully.

sounds like flea bites..the doctor will test the family, inject a steriod into you and prescribe an antibiotic and topical cream that will relieve the itch.

Sounds like a flea YOU MIGHT NEED TO TAKE THE BABY TO THE DOCTOR BECAUSE IT COULD BE A SPIDERS.GET IT CHECK.
