Strange bump on the back of my head?

I have had this as long as i can remember. It is located in the corner of the back of my head where my neck ends and my head begins, where my hair line starts to go up over my right ear. Its this round bump in there, and I've felt some of my friends head right there and i don't think they had it. Is this just a gland or something like that? Also i have pulled muscles in my neck around that same spot twice.

  1. a pic would be nice, but if you've had it for a long time than your lucky it wasn't cancerous.  It might be a cyst or something worse, or a skin growth, like a mole.  get it checked out ASAP, because the worst it could be could be pretty bad.

  2. I have something similar. My masseuse told me it was a calcium deposit. They grow because of stress and you can get rid of it by gently rubbing/massaging it a few times a day. Like when you are watching tv, sitting in class, on the computer, etc.

Try it and see if it slowly starts to get smaller.

If that doesn't work, then I suppose maybe it's just the shape of your skull. Not everyone is the same.

  3. Hmm..

    May be harmless.

I would go to the doctor and get it cheaked out just in case.

    Good luck x

  4. I had similar bumps but several and they were higher up. I wound up going to a dermatologist who removed them in an "in office" procedure. They will test them to be sure they are not cancerous but they are usually benign. Not a big deal.
