Strange dream, help with interpretation please?

Question

Ok so i had this dream like forever ago but i cant seem to stop thinking about it. it was very simple and had this peaceful feeling about it.

in my dream, the only things i can see are fog and these smooth, black, little river rocks that im standing on. the fog is so thick i cant see anything more than about ten feet away from me. i know it seems like being in a place that i dont know and i cant see or hear anything would be scary but it wasnt. i had this overwhelming feeling of peace the entire time. nothing happened in the dream, i just stood there.

so does anyone know what this might signify? id really appreciate any impute you may have, thank you!

Your dream seems to be one of retreat from the noise about you during waking life.

The fog closes out the distractions that are 'out there' - but is a peaceful thing.  Fog dampens noise in addition to the obvious obscuring of sight - if one is comfortable in it one finds comfort.  It can represent an environment not unlike the womb itself - a place of protection.

River rocks carry a peaceful connotation - by their nature they are ancient and settled - smooted by eons of water passing over them.  They are lumpy but not sharp to the feet - they convey nearly a sense of massage to the feet, body and mind.  If they are shuffled about with the feet they carry a muted low rumble, not sharply imposing sounds.  They compliment the fog about you by providing peaceful firmament below your feet.  They also provide a solid surface on which you can feel assured as they do so.

That they are black is perhaps a representation of space.  Although you are locked into this place of peace, there may be a sense of something peaceful beyond.  Sometimes black in objects in dreams can represent the negative or something menacing.  But in this case it seems very much the opposite: something positive - a window to a promising void beyond, a place of possibilities to which you may proceed next after this peaceful interlude in the fog.

You either need or desire this peace as you contemplate something in your future and cope with the presence - the dream seems to try to provide that sensation and awareness of need to you.

Water is often associated with spirits, and the fog is the spiritual realm surrounding you. The spirits of this realm appear to be sheltering you like a blanket and preventing you from seeing too far ahead. Smooth river stones have been used for massaging and healing magic.
