Question:

Strange ear infection, need help...?

My husband noticed what looked like a white crust on my earlobe last week and I just wiped it off.

Today, I thought I saw dead skin, in fact there is also a ring of red bumps around the piercing that remind me of a fungal infection.

Applying pressure from behind caused a pin-head amount of hard pus to protrude.

I turned the earlobe up and noticed the back of it is sealed.

I am 25, the piercing is 20 years old and this has never happened despite the fact that I don't wear earrings. In fact, I don't wear them due to my usual allergic reaction.

What could it be and what can I do?

  1. it is probably soap, creams, shampoo residue etc. cleaning with witch hazel, peroxide or the like should clear it right up!! at least you know the ear is still pierced ,if only in the center.

  2. clean it with peroxide daily... it will get better!

  3. It could well be a pimple that formed on the skin inside the piercing. You just need to treat it like any skin sore. Put hot compresses on it 3 or 4 times a day to help it drain and loosen accumulated skin oils. Sterilize it afterwords with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. In a few days it should be fine. Then just take care to wash the lobes and rinse whenever you wash your face.
