Question:

Strange experiences in my home.?

Here is a little background of what I am about to ask. The house next door was built by our best friend's grandparents. They moved out because of financial problems and the house was lost to foreclosure. Our best friend's dad was raised in the house, and of course he was like a dad to my husband and me. A couple of years ago he died tragically in a freak accident about 1/2 mile from our houses. Since they lost the house a couple of people have lived there, but the most recent ones destroyed the home and had got convicted of things they had done to children there last month.

For the past month every Saturday night, our TV turns on to a program that "Dad" used to watch all the time on Saturday nights on PBS. There is no explanation as to how it gets turned on to that show. Then I could swear that I have seen him walk past our kitchen window on our covered porch. I am not scared, and feel he is making his presence known. Our best friend one morning saw it too.

  1. It is the purpose of our mind to associate the object of our present into facts we can deal with in our own way. Recollection of past happenings influence our behavior and when we add the "want to" of our mind to believe, then all things will fall into order. Some people can explain away the "strange " things and some cannot if this is disturbing to you then your course is to do your best to adjust .If it is not then you have already adjusted. For all things that you see or hear and explain these to me I will believe you have heard or seen them. However for me to agree or disagree with evidence i have not witnessed is a false testimony on my part. It could have been the neighbor you saw or someone else as you said. As far as the TV goes and it changing channels well i am more inclined to believe that there is an interference from some electrical apparatus that can be explained but if it suits you well to believe it is your loved one then who am I to argue this point. In fact I am sure at any one moment in time i could expel the virtue of a faith of some sort that contained something in it that you might have to "JUST BELIEVE" in to accept as i myself may have no proof. Its a given these moments will occur in everyones life. ...I'm sure that if you believe its your "DAD" then it will be....Please have a good feeling about this....from the E...

  2. no, it sounds like your friends dad is making his wishes known.  i think you are right and that buying the house is probably the right thing to do.  i think you already know in your heart that that is the right move.  best of luck on your new home!

  3. Well, I think you need to rule out the natural explanations first. However, that can be hard to do completely unless you are an electrical engineer and understand the electronics inside the TV or cable box. But still you can check the obvious -- is your TV/cable set up to record or go to a channel on a schedule?  If you're watching a certain channel at that time, will the TV automatically switch the channel while you're watching it?  Or does the channel get switched when you're not watching it?  If it only changes to that channel when you're not looking, I would be a little suspicious.

    Regarding the figure you see outside your window, that's something that can very likely be an illusion. We can see things out of the corner of our eye and, not having a good idea of what we've seen, our brain fills in the rest with what might expect to see. If you expect to see this fellow, you probably will.

    I know rational analysis can offend a lot of people, but hopefully you won't take it that way.

  4. That is tragic but wonderful.  My grandfather died suddenly over Christmas 18 years ago..  My mom never got to say goodbye.  She went back for the funeral and stayed at my grandmothers.  Mom was sleeping on the couch when grandpa walked down the hall and sat at the kitchen table.  They said they're goodbyes, and he told her "don't worry my daughter, everything will be all right".  She gave him a hug, told him she loved him and they sat back down.  My grandmother then came into the kitchen and walked by the table.  Mom looked at her, looked back at grandpa--he put his finger to his lips to silence her...she looked back at grandma, and he disappeared.  Grandma saw him about 6 months after she moved down to Phx and occasionally saw him.  When she started seeing him more frequently, she made the decision to move back to SLC.  She moved back 10 years ago.  Within two weeks of finding an apartment, she met her current love.  That was the last time she saw grandpa...he lead her into love again.

  5. i dont believe in ghosts but i do believe in other spirits (long story) first of all to make sure this isnt a evil spirit taking his form i would do this get a freash box of salt do not use it for any thing but this. go all around your house with it and try not to let the lines break. next get the bible and go into every room reading it. then simply say all evil spirits leve my house in the name of the father and son etc.... if the spirit is evil it will leve if its good it will not affect it.

  6. Yes Virginia there is a Santa Clause...

    No really now,   I know that spirits exist, but I have not seen a full materialization like that.

    How ever that does not mean that it cannot happen.

    In my home I have spirit activity but it is this type;

  9. It's not uncommon to miss those who have recently died.  It's not uncommon to remember those people fondly and to associate their past habits with your present life.  However, if you are going to buy the house make sure you do it for your reasons, not for some perceived supernatural one.

    An important person in your life has died.  Mourning his passing is nothing unusual.  However, I don't think there is any reason to think something paranormal is going on.
