Question:

Strange insect in spain?

I saw the strangest insect last week - it looked like a cross between a bee and a moth, but it was out in bright sunlight so I'm guessing it's not a moth. It was an inch long, with a mottled-brown body (like a bumble bee but thinner) and it had a grey furry head and antennae like a moth. I know it's strange but I'm curious he he. Anyone know what it is? Thanks!

  1. The first sounds like a description of the Humming Bird Hawk Moth, second, sorry but no idea

  2. I know you said don't worry about the second one, but I think that might be an ichneumon wasp. They have VERY long ovipositors that are often mistaken for stings. They also tend to be very thin.
