Every time--not just once or twice--but every time that I play the music of a particular deceased singer, the lamp next to my CD player flickers on and off a few times.

It never has happened any other time or when I am playing any other music. The lamp is fine--fairly new, and like I said it only happens when I am playing the songs of this singer who has passed away.Hmmm...

  1. Prime has the right idea, We do not have enough information to give you any answer with any analytical logic.

Here are a few more questions.

Is there heavy bass in the music?

Have you played the CD in a different player in your home with the same results?

There a lot of things you can do to see what it is, before declaring haunt or paranormal.

  2. I agree with Shae 100%, but sometimes when I listen to old 78 records I feel someone tugging on me only to look back and see nothing, so it is paranormal.

  3. Resonance frequency of the switch parts?  It's not Sinatra, is it?

  4. Film it and put it on YouTube =)  It kinda sounds like you have the same condition that this woman from the UK has. I read about her just the other day.  Here's a link to the article.

  5. That's an interesting question and I think chocolat is on the right track. Obviously something is loose in your lamp and this is causing an intermittent electrical connection, thus a flicker. If there is something loose, then it can vibrate, right?  Well, what if the particular song you were playing had strong frequencies near or at the resonant frequency of whatever was loose in the lamp?  This would cause the lamp to flicker, and it would be specific to the kind of music being played. Based on what you've told us, I would suggest this is what is happening.

  6. sound frequencies of the lamp match with that of the song that is being played or the singer himself... try a different lamp in the same place , of a different material , that is , if you have one..  i guess it should not flicker.

and if it still does then i guess try changing the player , it may be causing the problem , and if all of that doesn't change things. then i guess you better say hello to monsieur flickering spooker!!

  7. I would go with what prime said as well

  8. No idea...  You should call Ghost Hunters! :D

  9. Do  you have any one close to you that has passed away that liked that singer? If so, that is a "Hello" to you that they are near.

  10. I don't have a scientific explanation, but here are some questions to ask (and experiments to try).  I would guess it is some kind of interference, but I have no idea of the particulars.

Does it happen with another lamp in the same socket?  With the same lamp in a different socket?  With a different bulb?

Does the flickering occur in the same place of the song consistently?  Does it occur if you use a different CD player?  Does the CD player transmit anything wirelessly?

Does anyone else you know have another copy of the same CD?  Does the problem happen with their CD as well?

  11. This is obviously a job for the GHOST BUSTERS. [humor]

Lots of things might be causing it.  Faulty wiring might be a good place to begin looking, an electrical plug not properly tight, maybe something combining the frequency of the singer's voice with one of the above [especially if it's an opera singer].

Or you can prefer to believe the dead singer's paying you a call.  Whatever works best for you.

  12. It could be that a spirit that you have in your home either likes or dislikes the music. Or could be trying to get your attention. I would try and set up a digital voice recorder, and ask some questions, and see if you can get any responses thru EVP work. Good luck Honey!

  13. Maybe the CD player pulls a lot of electricity to render the song

  14. even the smallest gesture of kindness  is noticed on the other side!and bless the heart that is true.............so  say "thank you" for hearing me an bringing a bit of light into my day!rock on!!!! blessed be........................
