Strange problem with iPod 5g HELP PLEASE!!!

Question

Okay, today I just got back from North Carolina and my iPod was basically dead. So, I take it and put it on my iHome charger and I notice my ipod restarts, as usual, but, as it restarts it crashes then restarts again & does the same thing and this is continuous. I didn't notice any problems with it and I even tried plugging it into my USB port and my other wall charger- nothing. I really don't want to buy a new iPod but... if I have to :[ HELP!

Try to restart your ipod by press and hold the Menu and the Middle button at the same time till the screen turns off and restarts/

Try to connect your ipod to your computer USB, see if anything happens
