Ok, Well I'm 15.. and I've been having this strange urge or something to get pregnant. I mean not like horny feeling.. .just like I want to have a child and I know that it wouldn't be very good being 15 and all. Do you guys think maybe why I would be feeling like that, or try and say stuff to talk me out of it?

Thanks

Yes. This is a serious question.

  1. I think a large portion of the population of young teenage girls go through the stage where they want a baby. It's not anything abnormal. It's sad when they actually act on it, because I'd guess that 98% of these girls can't take care of their children. I'd think twice about it before you make that decision. I'm 19 with a planned baby, and I'm starting to wonder if I made the right decision, and I've been supporting myself for almost 3 years. So I'd suggest not doing it. There's so much involved in caring for a child, and all of it costs money, which I'm assuming you don't have, being only 15. Just think about it, sweetie.

  2. You are still very young and i know quite a lot of young girls feel this way as they think it will give them something unconditional to love and to love them back, You have plenty of time for kids and should enjoy your childhood while you have it. Babies don't stay babies forever. They grow up into monster toddlers and cheeky kids lol. And although they are lovely little things it is constant and very hard work. I fell pregnant when i was just 16 and although i wouldn't change it for the world sometimes i feel like i would have liked to have lived a bit first.

  3. I have always loved babies and small children, and knew i would always have them someday, even at your age.  But I knew that i couldn't take care of one so young.  I don't know if this would work for you, but i volunteered at our church in the baby nursery, babysat for families with young kids, and I also worked at a daycare center.  All these things definately gave me that "baby fix" and i realized how wonderful it was to be able to give the baby back at the end of the day!  Now I have my own children and I love it, but I also look back on my high school years very fondly because i got to have a blast with my friends, date, go to dances/parties.... i knew girls that had babies in school and didn't get to do any of that, they struggled big time.  So think hard before you do something like that.

  4. Motherly urge kick in, hormones. Just keep in mind that you would not be the best candidate for a mother at this age. So many teens get that urge and act on it and its devastating for both the teen and the baby. Remember once it happens there is no turning back. If you are sexually active, or feel you want to be, get put on the pill or the shot. There are many reasons why you can have this urge, but you are obviously bright enough not to act on it. Many teens get pregnant because then they have someone that will love them unconditionally, or so they think, a child does not love you initially, you give it love, and that is a 24/7 job. Hormonal fluctuation can also give some women urges to have a child. Hormones also give us lovely things like periods and hair in places we don't want it, so I wouldn't do something because hormones tell you to. Stay bright, stay in school, the urge will die off after awhile, and come back later when you have a partner that has that same urge and you both have the finances to back it.
