Question:

Strange spherical thing in my earlobe?

there is this strange spherical-strange-thing inside my right earlobe, its a bit small, as small as a pea, its also a bit hard and painful if i squeeze on it... its been with me for years...

could it be a cyst?

and could this be life threatening?

or could it be something else?

  1. I had that once, but it went away.  Have it checked out if you're worried about it.

    Small lumps such as you describe are common in the earlobe and usually remain small and harmless for may years.  Some dissipate on their own and there is  usually no luck in squeezing them,  for they do not as a rule contain puss.

    If it makes you feel better, have the MD look at it during your next visit but there is no cause for alarm unless for some reason it starts to grow rapidly.  In that case it would have to be removed with a small incision.

  3. I had one for years. It was a cyst. I finally had it removed. get it checked out but it's probably nothing sinister.
