Question:

Strange synastry and the vertex

Got a weird energy with a work colleague...sometimes its nice and sometimes its silent and intense; it's got that feeling of a friendship that gets weird without anyone saying anything, and some times it's really palpable, and gets in the way.

So did a bit of digging and found our charts have loads of aspects but the main ones were:

My sun square his moon

His sun conjunct my venus uranus onjunction

My sun conjunct his venus

My moon conjunct his pluto

His moon trine my mars

His mars conjunct my north node

There's more, but it goes on forever.I looked at all this and wrote it off as a mess, mainly friendly, and add it here as synastic context. I'm female, he's male.

The real puzzle is the Vertex.

My Vertex is conjunct his ascendant, his Vertex is conjuct my Ascendant.

I have no idea what to make of this last, and can't find much of use re Vertexes. Any help appreciated.

  1. In Synastry orbs between other planets and Vertexes are really tight, one degree or less.  Both the Vertex and the Ascendant are imaginary points.  I would not consider aspects between them significant.

As for the rest, I have no idea what orb you are using so it is mostly impossible to comment.  His Pluto on your Moon concerns me.  If the orb is less than 5 degrees, I recommend that you keep your distance as much as possible.

**The Vertex conj Asc orb is irrelevant.  (see above)

9 degrees is too wide to consider for the Sun square Moon.

**Plus it IS a work relationship.  So keep it professional.

  2. Hi there:)

I think that the vertex in this instance indicates that for each of you the other person *appears* to be someone that you are fated to have some sort of relationship with.

I would have to stress though that fated relationships are not always good ones. I feel that it may be a good idea for you to really take a logical look at this relationship, because there seems to be a lot urging the two of you together, but some important things which are saying it might not be a good idea....you don't always want to relive all of your karma, you know?
