The young Spaniard has voiced his opinion regarding La Blaugrana’s current run of form, emphasizing that he does not understand why his side are not considered favourites anymore.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-c34888 Alcantara has expressed that there is no reason for anyone to question the Catalan giants' ability.
He stressed that the club have every capability of triumphing in all of the competitions that they are a part of. The Spanish international also stated that Barca have enjoyed a great start to the new season, both domestically and in Europe.
According to the midfielder, his side could not have had a better start to the 2012/2013’s campaign.
La Blaugrana have secured a victory in all of their 5 games in the Spanish La Liga so far. Leaving a destructive trail behind them, the Catalans have maintained a perfect record in the league as they have claimed all 15 points from the matches.
Consequently, Thiago has argued that there is no reason to doubt La Blaugrana’s chances this season as they are doing their best to prosper.
While talking to reporters, the 21-year-old was quoted as saying:
"It’s strange that people still have their doubts about the team. We're having a very, very good start. It couldn’t be better, between the Liga and Champions League we’ve won our last six games, and in each one of them we were the superior side.”
"We’re getting into the rhythm of competitive play, the Liga has just started and all the teams are in the same spot we’re in. We’re on the same level, we simply want to improve so that we can be in a good position by the end of the season."
Although the Copa del Rey champions did show a few signs of struggle during their past few games, they have continued to accumulate all 3 points from each one of them.
On the other hand, their greatest rivals Real Madrid have dropped 8 points in the Spanish Primera Division’s league standings. Winning only 2 games out of 5, Jose Mourinho’s men find themselves in quite a fix.
In addition to this, Barca have also continued their current form in the UEFA Champions League as they humbled Unai Emery’s Spartak Moscow to a 3-2 defeat during midweek.
Barcelona will face Sevilla this Saturday in continuation of their Spanish La Liga campaign.
