Question:

Strangling/Suffocation Dreams

I have always had VERY, VERY lucid dreams. One of them I had every night for years as a child (I am 20 now) but it still freaks me out. I was in the car with my Mom, two of my sister's were in the back and I was in the front passenger seat. My mom had to run into the grocery store so she left the car running so we could listen to the radio. She walks into the store and a garage door opens. I look inside the garage/market and she is being put through a meat grinder by two employees. One of them runs out and gets into the driver seat and starts to drive away with us in the car. I bend over and the seatbelt starts to strangle me and I wake up.

Is there any significance to this dream? I have never forgotten it and it's been at least fourteen years since I have had it. Also, very rarely (it's happened maybe six times my entire life) I will look at a stranger and I get the EXACT same feeling I got in my dream when I was being strangled. I feel that when I get that feeling, it means they have a bad aura and not to approach them.

I don't want to sound really weird because I don't much believe in psychic abilities but does anyone think could this be any sort of warning I get when there is a bad person around?

The last time I got it - I was in a store with my Mom and a man looked over at me and I literally started to choke and felt that same suffocating feeling. I want to approach these people and test the waters, so to speak, but I don't want any harm done to me.

  1. you're having panic attacks. and yes you can have them in your dreams too. i have had them for over 40 years and i will still wake up haveing one even now. whether these are caused by psychic abilities i do not know. i am not a psychic and have never had a psychic episode in my life. when you were young something probably happened to you that brought about this problem. something

that you were never told about or that your parents were unaware of at the time. these people now just remind you of a person from your childhood that may or may not have been a bad person. these people now are not bad they just are bringing back memories from your past.

the best way to overcome this is when you get this reaction from someone is to slowly work yourself over towards them and try to stand as close to them as you can for as long as you can. try to relaxl yourself. the way to do this is to do a breathing exercise. the way to do this is...slowly breath in through your nose slowly lto a count of 8...hold to a count of 4...then slowly release through the mouth to a count of 8. make sure your shoulders are relaxed and pulled down from your head. repeat until you feel relaxed. practice this before you get into a situation where you will need to do this. it is done in such a way that no one will know you are doing it. use this technique while moving close to the person that makes you feel like you are suffocating. eventually the feelings will go away and you will have control over the situation. i wish you many blessings and prayers.

  2. Didn't you already ask this?

  3. We are made up of body, soul, and spirit.  Most of us have the

tendency to live out of our soul- which is comprised of our mind, will,

and emotions.  Our spirit usually takes a back seat.

It could be that you are more in tune with your spirit than most.

You know how people will say that they had a hunch about someone or something?  That's probably the spirit getting through, because the spirit perceives more than the mind can comprehend.

Thank God that you have that sensitivity!

    God bless

  4. You may have sleep apnea or another sleep disorder where you are not getting enough oxygen, or stop breathing briefly in your sleep....hence the feeling of strangulation and then waking up. The part about your mother could be that she wasn't there when you felt like you were lacking air...but you wanted her to be, as most parents are not at your bedside through your entire sleep. However once awakened you do not usually know that you are having trouble breathing at night. Sleep apnea is a common condition and it wouldn't hurt to look into it. Even more interesting is that this sleep disorder usually happens during the dream phase of sleep...so it is very logical. This dream which at one time was recurrent, may have given you a fear of strangers that you are not comfortable with. Sometimes looking at someone, you can swear they are such a type of person that you believe, but when you talk to them you may find that they are not. However, most people do not talk to strangers that they are uncomfortable with
