  1. Strasbourg is a great and wonderful city and when you cross the Rhine River, then you're also in Germany! ;-)

Strasbourg's official website is http://www.strasbourg.fr (also in English and German language).

    Greetings from Germany...

And more about Strasbourg here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strasbourg

And also make a search on Yahoo or Google for Strasbourg, you surely will get lots of more good websites.

  2. The cathedral of Strasbourg is usually considered the #1 "must see." The oldest part of the city is very well preserved and if you like 16th century architecture you'll enjoy strolling around it. There is an equally old bridge (one covered but now open) in that same area with  massive four massive 14th century towers that used to be part of the cities defenses.

There are also all the various buildings that house the many international institutions that are in the city such as the European Court and the Council of Europe.

There's a lot of good restaurants, as one would expect in a city that houses so many overpaid and under worked bureaucrats with fat expense accounts.

P.S. I noticed that you asked a question in another section about 1920's fashion. If you stop in Paris on this trip you should check out the Museum of Decorative Arts. It has fashions from every era on display along with information about designers.
