Strauss wants England to beat India at home
England Cricket Team captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964, wants to defeat India on English and Indian grounds in order to reach the peak of success and strength. He thinks that beating the World Champions can be bigger than an Ashes victory for the Poms.
Strauss is struggling hard to build up his team and lead them to achieve a bunch of victories in the near future as the skipper eyes the top slot in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 rankings.
Under Strauss’ leadership, Team England has bagged two back-to-back Ashes victories. The captain also earned the T20 World 2010 title.
Strauss has recently been relinquished of the One Day International (ODI) captaincy with a view to put all his focus on the Test side.
Talking to the media here, Strauss said, “I have never beaten India in a Test series and, if we want to be the best side in the world, we have got to start by doing that. I‘d say to win in India would be bigger than winning the Ashes in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 because
the conditions are even more foreign.”
However, Strauss thinks that beating http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gordon-Muchall-c1499 emboldened by their World Cup victory. He said, “Winning out there seemed a very difficult thing to do”.
But the skipper is confident of his players’ capabilities and he hopes that they will perform.
Team India is set to visit http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 latter this summer to play a bilateral series.
Currently, England is gearing up to host a Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
Strauss argues that appointing a different skipper for each of the three formats is a very positive move by the England Cricket Board (ECB) and he believes that this strategy will work well in the future.
