Strawberry Duck determined to win Selling Stakes
Strawberry Duck is determined to clinch top spot in the Mirror Punters Club Selling Stakes at Windsor racecourse on Monday, June 18. The Amy Weaver-trained bay filly will run under Dominic Fox in the high-profile contest that is set to start at 7:10 (GMT).
Pursuing the prize cheque worth £2,264 on the good to soft track of 6 furlongs, the fantastic filly will surely unleash a winning performance. She has just two races to her name.
The two-year-old novice runner started her career on May 26, 2012 and finished 6th in her maiden outing. She moved on to grab a runner-up rank in her second and last start on June 5. This was Weddings At Great Yarmouth Racecourse Selling Stakes
that took place at Yarmouth track.
The brilliant runner was ridden by Kirsty Milczarek. It is hoped that the filly will improve a lot in today’s marathon under the new jockey.
On her way towards the finish line, the daughter of Moss Vale out of Flying Ridge will have to run against nine rivals such as Eloquent Star, Iffley Fields, Northern Harbour, Prince Of Prophets, Fruity Bun, Ground To Garden, Lucky Suit, Myzamour and Sojoum.
Strawberry Duck is likely to thrive convincingly as none of her rivals will be able to challenge him. However, Lucky Suit and Ground To Garden will fight for runner-up rank.
Lucky Suit staged her debut with 6th position on April 23, 2012. The Richard Hannon-trained bay filly stepped ahead to finish 4th against 9 contestants in the very next outing. The young and energetic sprinter got 7th spot
in her last start on June 12.
On the other hand, Ground To Garden has just one race with 6th position to her name. The g*y Kelleway-trained bay filly debuted just a week ago.
It is anticipated that there will be a fierce war between Lucky Suit and Ground To Garden for the second position. Lucky Suit will also disturb Strawberry Duck to some extent.
By and large, the event will be awash with thrill and twists. A large number of spectators will turn out to the venue today. Good luck to all the contestants.
