i'm @ uni studying comm. & personally i think street art (art on the street with a message) is brilliant.

currently i chalk & hang posters of traffic lights etc.

is it illegal (vandalism) to paint on the road etc. im kinda nervous about taking it to far. i dont want to do anything illegal.

personal experience/other knowledge is greatly appriciated =) ta xo

  1. chalking isnt vandalism because it isnt permanent.......you can still get in trouble if its someones private property though..........basically dont go round doing it down highstreets etc until you are quick and know your way around the streets..........get a bike, very handy!

sometimes you can ask your council if you are allowed to chalka street and they are usually cool with it! lok at http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&...

    xxxxxxxxxxxgood luck

  2. If you mean chalking  - by using chalk and just drawing on roads

thats okay. and posters is okay. but to paint on the streeet.?

i wouldnt do it ;; unless its washable paint. but if its permanet or its spray paint dont do it. thats against the law.

  3. Chalk (or anything that washes off) is OK by me. It can be interesting and enlightening.

Never ever use paint that is permanent. It ruins the surface of properties that are not yours.
