  1. look for the Bike shop or mechanic in Your area .

ask .....and You shall be.....hook up.

    but have some cash ready.

  2. Good 4 U...wise decision--you got bigger responsibilities now...but it's not TOO big a risk to ride with yer arms sticking out front!!

I have a Yamaha Virago...'95, 1100 just for the record...love it...it's a cruser style, comfy for long rides, low center of grav...Go with at least a 600cc engine to get the speed you need for the freeway and the power you'll want...mine's prob. worth about $3500 on a good day, so a used one won't kill you...take care of it, and that kid'll be restoring it as an antique  one day!!

    ride safe!!

  3. I ride a HD Road King and I love it !!  Prior to owning the HD, I owned a Honda VTX1300R.....It was a really solid bike, and even the Honda salesman said to me..."Honda pretty much designs their cruisers after Harley Davidson cruisers"....so you know it'll look good.

There are plenty of good looking cruisers out there, but listen to my warning.....If you have your heart set on a Harley, GET ONE NOW.......you will just end up trading in for one and you'll take a $$ hit doing so.

  4. i ride a harley that was cheap... $4500, no repairs, just maintenance and elected upgrades

  5. Honda Shadow Aero is styled after the Harleys and Yamaha VStar Silverado is a VERY nice looking bike with the bags and windshield. Dressed out it even has running boards. I think the 2007 1100 was priced at around $9700.00. Not too much for a sweet ride and a new one at that. I imagine the 09 will be somewhere close to that.

  6. Honda has some nice cheaper cruiser bikes, learn on a lessor nice bike, then get a badass Harley after a couple years of riding.

  7. Look for a medium metric cruiser, instead. The Suzuki M109R is as big as most Harleys but cheaper (not much though), and their may be others that catch your eye, at the dealership. Or the medium metric cuisers, 750 cc Honda AERO, 800 cc Boulevard, that sort of thing.  They even have tiny Hondas styled like cruisers now (rebel 250). Id avoid bothe very large an very small cruisaers until you get familar with them. Maybe a sportster 883/1200? (two different engines).

Have you considered a Buell? (watercooled harley engine, gas in the frame oil in the swing arm) Very high tech for a "harley".
