Question:

Street hockey inlines@rollerblades!?

Hello, I recently bought brand-new Nike streethockey inlines. They do run very fast, smooth and exact as I want them to run. But there's just this one thing.. They don't have brakes (I already knew that before buying them) And now, I've been using them for a month and I mainly use the front wheel in order to stop. The rollerblade uses something called "advanced wheel setting". There's a big wheel at the back, a centimeter smaller after that and so on. Now I'm wondering...Is there any chance of possibility that I could "add" a brake to the back of my rollerblade? I hate using my front wheel since it's starting to get "weird". It's not like the other wheel, it's like getting "small".

Please help me with this, I really need help with it.

If your provide me with a good answer, I'll get you ten points for a best answer. Thanks alot, I realy appreciate your help - a 15 year old boy from Sweden.

  1. Any wear and tear will cause your wheels to gradually get smaller. If you're using these skates for off-ice training, but while playing hockey, you do NOT want a brake on them - they will get in the way. Imagine when skiing if they were crossed one over the other? Good point TBL - the kid's gotta learn to stop with them as on ice skates.

  2. I'd suggest for you to learn how to stop without the use of a brake. You can always replace the wheels.

  3. Don't bother adding a brake, it'll just get in the way of good skating habits.

Get used to a "T-stop" - stick one leg out perpendicular to the other and use the friction to stop.

Make sure to rotate all of your wheels so that they wear evenly.
