Street kids?

Question

Can somebody tell me what do you think the South African government should do about the streets kids. They are everywhere and its heartbreaking. Maybe give a free sterilisation to previously disavantage females? KFK don't answer you are irritating. I don't know why you are in Yahoo Answers.

The SA government should do what the old government did, send the police to catch them and round them up and then put them in orphanages, or send the naughty ones to industrial schools......but lately most orphanages are privately run or sponsored, the government took all their subsidies away......yes, can you believe it!!

I think it's baie hartseer to see them all just wondering around. Looking for places to stay during the nights and looking/ begging for what they can. It's horrible to watch as you know that you can't help them all.

It's not only for their own safety to get them off the streets but for the community as it does bring a percentage of crime with it!

I don't know if it is possible to get all kids off the streets considering how many of them hey are! But there is no harm in trying or to start somewhere, but us civilians can't do much it's the ANC who needs to take action which isn't helping!!

Even in the UK there are many of them, most of them however are drug addicts who have spent their money on injecting themselves and have lost everything due to drinking and drugs, it too is sad! Others have been let done by their parents and are victims are violence and abuse within the family. What has the world come to? I just wonder...

Keep their PROMISE !

Free housing, free education ,free medical assistance that would be a start ! If these things were delivered as promised the kids would not have been destitute !

I know it's sad,but I;ve heard of alot of street kids running away from homes,foster parents and hostels because they prefer to be on the streets,I am not saying its like that with all of them but My friends dad is a pastor and he said that they want to be back on the streets because they have alot of friends and they have their freedom ,its all they have ever known,Imagine being taken away from your friends that you grew up with and being put in a house and getting told what to do,when to sleep,when to study ect

A friend of a friend was knifed through the heart by street-kids in Cape Town and died. The oldest was probably 11, they were trying to take his bag and one of them stuck him with a kitchen knife. Don't be fooled by them. I really don't know what you can do with those kids and maintain human rights and dignity at the same time.

In Brazil the police shoot them down in the street like dogs, do you think that this will be a solution for SA?
