At the front of my property i have a driveway and to the side of that a lawned area, the property is open plan with a drop kerb at the front covering the hole witdth of the house. I am going to block pathe the hole front of the house to get two cars on the drive way. My question is there is a street lamp at the front of the house which would obstruct me getting to cars on the driveway, because its open plan and there is a dropped kerb do i have a case to have it moved at the councils expence or is it something i would have to pay for myself.

  1. The lamp will be on the public right-of-way or on an easement, so you would have to get permission to move it -- and certainly would have to pay the cost of doing so.

  2. YOU,LL HAVE TO PAY BUT CHECK YOU CAN BLOK PAVE AS NOWADAYS THERES NEW RULES ABOUT DRAINAGE

  3. If they even allow you to move it, you will have to pay the cost. The town or city council will not take on an expense for anyone. Hope that helps!
