Street lighting. did you know that if a street light shines into your house you can ask for it to be shaded?

my house was lit up every night. my bedroom was like daylight. i emailed the council and received a reply to say it would be dealt with. 2 days later its done. my house is now dark at night. im very impressed. so if you have problems with lighting , ask your council to fix it

Oh fab. There is a light outside my bedroom which switches on and off all night and it drives me insane. Thanks for the tip!

OMG you are a life saver. I have black out curtains, miniblinds and thick black curtains to keep out that stupid light. I can't wait to call them.

Great, i think i will  have to contact our local council about the street light outside our bedroom window,

I had a similar situation, told the council and they actually came out and changed the light to a much dimmer and whiter light.

It was done quite quickly which makes me wonder if we could actually ask for them to be removed altogether!

Either way, i was surprised and impressed and was able to sleep at night after wards.
