  1. I am very, very upset right now.

  2. Great signing for, a young mobile d-man, now maybe Ricky D won't come out so much and let the talented players handle the puck.

  3. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

    I'm actually excited!!!!!!!

I can't believe the Isles actually did something smart for a change.  Streit will be a HUGE difference on the PP, although I do question his sanity right now. Guess the sodium pentathol worked  Now we just need someone to put that rubber disc in the net.

  4. I won't miss Ryder much, but Streit was one of my favourite non-Quebecois or Finnish players in the league. Oh well, at least he didn't go to the Booins, Laffs or Senaturds .. still hurts though .. didn't realise he was a free agent .. had I known that I would have told Gainey to go ahead and trade him and Ryder for Hossa ..

Money talk, bull**it walks Jeter, you should know that being a Bronx Juicers fan

  5. Good question. I question why anyone would want to play for the Islanders.

  6. It is probably a good pickup for the Islanders but the price is a little steep.  $4 M per year.

Having watched him all of his games in Montreal I can say that he is a power-play specialist who will certainly help the PP.

he is versatile and can play forward or Defense.

The big problem is as a Defenseman he is not particularly strong defensively.  five on five he is on your third defensive unit.  He is essentially a number 4-5 D man at best.  Up front he is a great third liner who can kill penalties and chip in some offense.

I always felt he was better as a forward who played the point on the PP and gave you the insurance of having a guy who could drop back on D if someone went down.  A great asset to have but at 4 million- seems like they overpaid.
