Ok, So I am just trying understand myself and please read this paragraph a little carefully to understand where I am going and What is so wrong that I am doing - becuase I am doing something VERY WRONG.

I come home from entire day of work (some times I work 10-11 hours) - I don't have EXTRA savings / High salary to go to SPA every week to get a massage - so I don't go to SPAs ...I haven't gone in last 6 months. I dont' ahve enough vacation to enjoy life and even if I did - my student loans will PRESSURE me NOT to take an expensive vacation to Las Vegas, Florida or Hawaii ...insted my vacation may be just local / group outing where we can share cost and keep expenses to minimum...

My only way to "relax" "De-stress" my self is to pretty much Eat food that I like and watch TV. But now I have heard that watching TV doesn't help you decrease stress ....but its seems a relief to me ? although i do stay up late, lack sleep , keep watching tv, hate myself in the morning when I can't wake up ontime ... and usually i do not watch History channel, CNN or Home and gardnen ...its usually movies, etc.

Ok MAYBE i need a life-style change ! but how ? I am too tired to exeercies, too broke to get massage ..(i would get myself massage at least once a week if I could afford it - i just get exhausted and mentally stressed too often)

I am sorry if my previous and this question talks about the same issues over and over again ...but ... this is where i am ? stuck.

  1. Yeah, you definitely sound stuck in a rut. So you need to get yourself out of it which will take a little effort and work on your part.

    First step: Improve your diet.

Cut out junk food, highly processed foods, high saturated fats and sugar as you most likely have a sugar addiction which will cause low energy and mood swings. Ensuring you are getting all the proper nourishment and hydration will improve your life all by itself. Your energy will increase and your food cravings will actually decrease. It's VERY important.

    Second step: exercise.

I know you said you are too tired to exercise, but it is science that exercise will improve your mood and energy levels. To begin with it will be a grind but you must stick with it and within a month you will start to feel results. It also physically tires your body so you rest better at night and physically relieves stress.

Third step: break all your bad habits.

Stop comfort eating - it is a double edged sword. The comfort is only there while the food is in your mouth and will later leave you with feelings of guilt and probably messing with your moods and energy levels depending on what food you are eating. Distract yourself everytime you want to eat.

Cut down on TV viewing. If you exercise for an hour in the day, then reward yourself with a film in the evening if you want. But no exercise, no movie.

If you can't afford a massage - join a massage course! You can do it in the evenings after work or on weekends. You will learn to massage but the other great thing is that the students learn by massaging each other - lots of free massages!

This is very brief but will hopefully put you in the right direction. Remember, you are stuck in a rut with lots of bad habits. It will take effort and determination on your part to get out of it, but the imrprovement to your life will leave you wondering why you didn't do it sooner!

    All the best.

  2. The two most successful ways to relieve stress:

    1) Talk about it - self disclosure.

    2) Physical exercise - anything you want to increase your heart rate.

  3. dont quit your job, i went that route now ive lost my apt they took back my unemployement im in debt up to my ears no one will hire me and my d**n food stamps only last 2 weeks, so as much problems as u got trust me it could be worse

  4. I would get some cd's or mp3's that help you relax and listen to those.  I do that nightly, as I am going to sleep, for my anxiety and panic attacks and it has made a world of difference.

It takes you through a progressive relaxation process and then you fa.. asleep.
