I am looking at a nursery nurse as a job role, and I was wondering if anyone knew any stressors apart from these:

· There is lots of planning to be done

· Lots of paperwork

· Time management

Thanks

  1. My advice would be:

Don't do the job if you don't like young children, you have to wipe running noses, cuddly upset children who not smell good etc

I have seen so many people who think that planning and paperwork is difficult and stressful.

The most important thing about nursery nursing is liking children. many times I have employed people who are very intelligent, but not hands, on so never mind stressors, INSURE that the Job is what you want. So much damage can be done to a child's self esteem by a uncaring nursery nurse.

  2. I think to be a nursery nurse you will need the patience of a saint.

    Good Luck

  3. Long days

    Low pay

    Constantly on the go

Bad behaved children (obviously not all of them but theres always one or two)

    the list goes on .....

it all adds up to one big STRESS lol

  4. -stressing over the children-are they ok, are they safe (Esp if you have concerns over their safety which DOES happen sometimes), are they learning, why arent they learning etc etc

parents-is so and so going to get angry, have i got time to talk to this parent, are they going to bring that money in etc.

-Inspections-in England this is OFSTED-HUGE stress---is everything prepared, paperwork up to date, policies etc.

-Staff-is everyone getting on, are they meeting deadlines, is pay ok, covering holiday pay etc

-Finances if you are boss-is it making enough money to cover bills, is rent going up next term, have you got fees off everyone etc.

-Advertising and promotion-have you got enough children to open, is advertisement working, how many are moving up at the end of term, etc.
