Does anyone know of a way to get rid of stretch marks that really works?

I have gained a lot of weight this past year and I got a lot of stretch marks--the ones on my thighs are already silver but they are bumpy??? ANY ADVICE, TIPS? Does surgery really work?

  1. I don't believe those creams they advertise work ,but of course I haven't tryed them because I didn't want to waste money. I know like if you have alot of belly fat and lose alot of weight there they can do a tummy tuck that gets rid of some of the stretch marks... But I just don't think you can get rid of them...

  2. There is a lot of stretch mark treatment available on the market these days. Some treatments are more effective in fading or even eliminating stretch marks, but the success of the treatment depends on a few different things. First of all is the color and age of the stretch marks. If they have faded to a flesh color they are much harder to heal. Second of all, ethnicity and heredity play a role in which creams, oils and other products or equipment will succeed in healing stretch marks.

The cheapest stretch mark treatment available is creams made especially for stretch marks. The most effective creams contain ingredients such as cocoa butter, lanolin and wheat germ oil. These creams actually heal and rebuild the damaged skin. While they may not be able to completely eliminate stretch marks, they may at least make the stretch marks fade to a barely visible scar. A good recommendation will be Palmer Cocoa Butter Cream.

Another popular & effective cream that you might wish to consider is Strivectin. It has a bioactive topical formula that has a combination of skin firming agents to reduce visible wrinkles and make skin appear firmer

  3. hey susan, i have the same problem. i am also a susan!

after having children i have stretch marks all over my stomach. they do fade over time. you can get an op done to remove excess skin. go talk to a doctor and make sure he / she is accredited if u go thru it. goodluck

  4. Try bio-oil, It's relatively inexpensive (10 bucks a bottle) I just started a month or so ago and they suggest you use it at least 3 for full results; I'm pleased thus far. Try their website www.biooil.com

  5. surgically removing the skin is the only way to remove them other than that. There is no way of getting rid of them with time they will fade

  6. Use coco butter and take vitamin c. The vitamin c helps prevent the premature aging in cells and is very good for skin, hair, and nails. coco butter is a natural way to help firm skin. It won't get rid of it, but it makes them less noticeable. If used regularly, it's good at preventing them before you get them also. The most important thing is the kind of coco butter. Make sure it's not a cheap, fake kind but real coco butter. The best place to find it is an authentic, African kind that you can find at shops like Wild Oats or even at an African store. I got some at a festival where they had a booth set up where you can actually see them making it from scratch. It's worth a try and better than spending a lot of money on something that might not work.
