  1. sit on the floor in the butterfly position and lay on your back. hold that position for a while. than turn in your right leg so that your right knee is touching your left foot. hold that position then repeat on the left. hope that helps:)

  2. it often helps to do the butterfly position leg out. this looks like your left toe is touching your right knee, and your right toe is pointing forward, vice versa. point as much as possible.

  3. the butterfly stretch, and also the frog stretch. (lie on ur stomach and do the frog stretch with your feet in first.) remember turnout comes from the hips, not the knees or ankles. try doing first position against a wall. but do not push too far. and its really important to not tun out from the ankle on this stretch or you will hurt yourself. good luck.

  4. Lie on one side with your legs bent to 90 degrees. Have your feet in line with your hips (vertically) .

Slowly lift the top leg up with your feet still touching and back down. Do this 8-12 times.

Then repeat but instead of coming back down, extend your leg so it is straight (in the air) then back so your feet are touching and close. 8-12 times.

You could also try lying straight on your side then lift your leg up and write the alphabet with your foot.

    repeat on the other leg

...did any of that make sense?

  5. lie on your stomach and put your legs in butterfly position (bottoms of feet touching, knees bent).  try to touch your feet to the floor while keeping your shoulders on the floor.

also, every time you do your ballet/pointe exercises, try to turn out to a full turnout in every position of the feet.

every time you sit down, turn your feet out to full first position and keep them there as you sit.  constantly doing it will greatly improve your turnout

    hope it helped!
