Stretching after a couple months??

I haven't danced nor stretched for a couple months because of an injury. i need any tips to stretch out my muscles cuz i used to be flexible and now im not......i just went into my splits and stuff, and it hurts!!!! any help will be awesome!!!

  1. Stretch Every night before you go to sleep

    for the splits, if it hurts, try and go as far as u can and hold it there for one minute every night


  2. Breathing (Deep in and out breaths) definitely helps during stretching. And it helps to stretch after you've been active because your muscles are warm and not stiff. Even if its only been you walking around the mall, or you cleaning the house. Also! Stretching is a wee bit easier after you've come out the shower (assuming you take a warm shower).

    Above all, don't force anything and risk getting injured, be patient and stretch everyday. And it helps to hold stretches for an extended amount of time, the rule of thumb is 1-minute, but i feel like everyone's muscles are different, so listen to your body, and don't push too hard!

  3. You should keep stretching, even though it hurts. And also BREATH WHILE YOU STRETCH it takes away the pain. Make sure you stretch every day!
