Stretching tips for a dancer please!?

I need to get in shape for this upcoming dance year and i need to get more flexible and be able to do my splits. I also need some help on the arch of my feet and my turnout. Give me some good tips that can help me!

  2. Hey I'm a dancer, too, and I have the very same problem. Okay what I do and have done is STRETCH! No matter how much it hurts, it will really help you in your future career as a dancer. In order to get your full splits the fastest, you must do them every day. Also HAMSTRINGS are really really important! For turnout and splits, I find it a lot easier to have very loose hamstrings so you won't get that horrible tight feeling below your knees. As for arches, the best excersises are releves, calf stretches, roll-throughs (basically going "en pointe" on one foot and rolling it forward to stretch the top of the foot) and just pointing your toe harder in general. You should be seeing specific changes the longer you do them. =)
