Strict discipline will mantain order. Any suggestions why.?

I agree with Pyar. Order can be maintained through discipline if by "strict discipline" you understand the use of force and fear. Until the starting of the XXth Century schools where usually places of discipline in that sense. Education was understood as a one sided process. Students were passive receptors of education, so they mainly "sat still". But this type of order will generate no ability for reflection on students, which questions the usefulness of such an order.

But you can also understand discipline as something you exercise on yourself, as you do when you study in the absence of a discipline forced on you. I wouldn't call the result of this discipline "order", but rather accomplishment.
