Was just wondering if a totalitarian but benign government took over the world tomorrow, ensured that all natural resources, wealth and public service be invested equally among the world population then what would qaulity of life be like for each individual? Could we get by or would there be too little for too many? (Assuming also that plenty of investment is made in science & technology).

Yours sincerely - smug annoying hippy (lol)

  1. We'd do okay.

There's enough of the necessities of life for everyone, they're just badly distributed ( Bill Gates and Warren Buffet don't REALLY need $50 Billion to pay the rent).

There would be short-term adjustments but we'd all be better in a short time.

  2. You can find out by reading "Atlas Shrugged", by Ayn Rand.  It is not pretty.
