Strikemaster expected to win Experiences Handicap
Strikemaster is expected to apply his rich racing experience at Thirsk racecourse in a bid to notch up first position in the Yorkshire Outdoors Adventure Experiences Handicap that will be held on Monday, June 25. The high-profile Class 5 contest is scheduled
to commence at 6:50 (GMT).
On the soft track of 2 miles, the Lee James-trained bay gelding will pursue the prize cheque worth £2,329 while running against 9 rivals including some strong ones like Nay Secret and Dan’s Heir.
The six-year-old veteran horse has won 4 of his total 44 starts so far. He has been entertaining the sport lovers since May 2008.
During October 2011, the son of Xaar out of Mas A. Fuera marvellously accomplished a couple of consecutive triumphs. First, he won Skyram Handicap at Catterick and then lifted the title of the Racing UK Amateur Riders’ Handicap at Musselburgh.
These classic feats boosted up the gelding’s morale for the time being but he could not be able to sustain this momentum and finished 6th in a race on November 14.
In his last outing on June 2, 2012, the horse grabbed a third against 8 competitors. This race also took place at Catterick.
Though Strikemaster is not a consistent and reliable runner and victories come to his way rarely but he poses to be the strongest candidate on the Handicap’s card as none of his rivals is capable enough to win today.
Nay Secret and Dan’s Heir are likely to have a stern duel for the runner-up rank. The Jim Goldie-trained bay gelding has been winless so far despite having run for 11 times.
In his second last start on May 30, 2012, the young horse finished as a runner-up against seven rivals. He got 4th spot in the subsequent race on June 9.
On the other hand, Dan’s Heir has won 5 of his total 40 starts to date. The Wilf Storey-trained bay gelding claimed a runner-up position on April 9, 2012. He finished 7th in his last start on June 9.
It is predicted that Strikemaster will not have to face enough competition on his way towards the finish line; hence, he is likely to thrive emphatically.
