Strikemaster to hit the track distance clear in the Yorkshire Outdoors Adventure Experiences Handicap
Competing in the Class 5 Yorkshire Outdoors Adventure Experiences Handicap are ten, four-year and older runners. The line-up will make its way to the wire at Thirsk, over a distance of two miles on Monday, 25th June.
The candidate, who manages settling the track distance before any of the other contestants, will get to take home the £2,329 prize money.
Sent at 11 to 4 is, Xaar’s six-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Mas A Fuera, Strikemaster, who is in tremendous form, as he showed it in his seasonal debut.
He ended third in the Racing Post Form With Totepool Mobile Handicap on 2nd June at Catterick. The winner, Callisto Moon, defeated the runner up of the race, Finellas Fortune, by a head’s margin.
Strikemaster wasn't far behind at third under jockey, Duran Fentiman.
The 15 to 8 favourite of the race, One For Joules, managed the fifth position in a field of 9.
The last time that the six-year-old won was in the Racing UK Amateur Riders’ Handicap on 26th October, 2011, at Musselburgh at about two miles.
Strikemaster was made the 100 to 30 joint favourite, while La Bacouetteuse suffered a five length defeate, and concluded the race as the runner-up.
The other joint favourite, Soprano, ended third in a field of ten.
Today he will give a shot to the second seasonal outing in partnership with rider, Duran Fentiman.
In regard with maintaining consistency, an entry who has not disappointed the connections is Shirls Son Sam, Rambling Bear’s four-year-old bay gelding.
He has undertaken three races ever since the season took off, and has been able to finish third in the last two races after a dreadful sixth position in the seasonal debut.
He filled up the third slot on 31st May in the Booker Cash & Carry Handicap at Newcastle over two miles against the 13 to 8 favourite, Bilidn, who eventually won the race over, Falcun.
On 23rd June, Shirls Son Sam managed the third position in the Kate Fearnley & Chic Hats Fashion Show Handicap at Redcar over a mile and six furlongs.
Improving from a sixth place finish, and then keeping a consistent grip on the next two starts, makes him a potential threat for, Strikemaster.
