The 27-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 international arrived at the London club for a record breaking fee of £50 million, which meant he was brought in to strengthen the first team.
That only meant one thing for Sturridge, there was no room for him in Chelsea, at least not in the starting XI.
The Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti decided to loan the youngster out to Bolton for the remainder of the season, in hopes the young striker would gain some valuable first team experience.
He has done exactly that. Sturridge has had an extremely successful season with Bolton and the club’s manager has asked the youngster to sign with the side on a more permanent basis.
However, Sturridge revealed he was determined to return to Stamford Bridge. The Englishman believes he has proved he is capable of playing the first team during his time at Bolton.
Sturridge said while speaking to reporters, “It's been a good period for me so far playing for Bolton, so it's superb for my career and it's helped me become a better player, hopefully for Chelsea's benefit. It's great to have this opportunity and it has
been good to show http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 what I am all about.”
Since joining Bolton in the winter transfer window, Sturridge has made ten appearances in the English Premier League and has scored an impressive seven goals.
The 21-year-old striker continued, “It was difficult for me not starting as many games as I'd have liked, as a young player with a lot of pressure you have to take the opportunities that are in front of you. If you don't, people will say you're not ready,
but I think I've always been ready.”
He insisted he was ready to return to Chelsea and occupy a more regular role in the squad, as opposed to being a substitute for the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Anelka-c27786 and Fernando Torres.
According to Sturridge, he has more than proved himself during the short loan spell at Bolton. His ability to find the back of the net has greatly improved since he arrived at Bolton and was given more play time.
