Though a host of young and exciting players have left Ligue 1 in the recent past, there are still plenty to watch and many new strikers who are likely to lit alight Ligue 1
The first one to watch out in the upcoming campaign is the goalscoring machine, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the fierce striker who recently made a switch from the Italian giants AC Milan for the mega rich Paris outfit.
With a flurry of top-class attacking midfield recruits for the title contenders this season, the former Milan man will have plenty of oppurtunities to score.
Former Marseille man Josip Skoblar’s 44 goals finally seem to be at stake as none have a second belief in the fact that the Swedish striker will amass a plethora of goals to his pocket.
Not only will the presence of world class players around him make his job easier, his technical skills that earned him the stature will be a constant support for his goal scoring.
The next striker worthy to be given attention in the 2012/2013 campaign is the Lyon hit-man Lisandro Lope. The Argentine striker, who has been playing regular first-team football for the club in financial turmoil, has improved with time at the club, with
the last season being the highlight of his career.
It is expected for the 29-year-old to continue with the impressive form in the upcoming season. After the transfer of Karim Benzema to Real Madrid, Lisandro Lopez has become the driving force of the offensive unit. The heroics of the striker have been well
acclaimed and remembered in particular ,his contributions in the European competitions in 2009, and it is expected of the hit-man to continue with the impressive run he had over the ages.
Lille striker, Nolan Roux is another striker pundits will be looking forward to watch. The lad did well in Ligue 2 whilst Ligue 1 has not been a safe passage for him as the French International could only bag 6 goals out of his 28 appearances. The January
2012 signing is expected to start the season on a high as the lad seems to have settled at the club, though it took for him slightly longer to settle than most.
French born Marseille striker, Loic Remy, is expected to create an impact at the Les Phoceens as the versatile player, who can also play down the flanks, is described by his former manager, Didier Deschamps as “a young international who is fast and power
and with huge potential”. The player has improved over the time and has also earned the place in national team.
Simon Zenke is another highly talented striker who has recently secured a 2-year contract with Ligue 1 side AS Nancy. The Nigerian, who recently helped Samsunspor win the second division and earned the top scorer award for the club in two seasons, is considered
by many as a very clever move on part of AS Nancy. With the Ligue 1 side finishing on an appreciable 11th spot, the new recruit is thought to help the side achieve new highs this campaign.
With cash flowing into the league and the league becoming more formidable in terms of star power, different French clubs have been working hard to assemble their squads and make signings that will ensure good results for the respective teams, particularly
bolstering their offensive units in the league. Hence, it is for sure that the French league is going to provide enormous entertainment to its followers all across the world.
