I stripped\sanded floor. Floor still shows dark areas. Is there a "bleaching" solution that can be used on the wood in order to "remove" all coloring (remaining staining materials, and whatever caused the staining)?

HELP????

  1. keep sanding

  2. Actually you can bleach hard wood. Regular clorox bleach can work but  chlorine for pools is five times stronger and works much better! If you use any type of bleach make sure you wash it with water after really good!

  4. unfortunately...No. with wood being a porous material their isn't anything than can be done to remove the stain entirely from the boards.

  5. If you go to your local hardware store, they do have several stain removing solutions. Sadly I have never found one that works. Is your flooring maple? Because if it is, nothing will get it out. Maple is a very hard wood to stain, and when it stains you can hardly never get it out. Try some more sanding just in those areas, or replace a few pieces if you can. Sorry to give you bad news. Good luck with your project!

  6. Replace some of the boards?  Choose a new stain that will hide the old stains?  I don't think you will find a magic substance to completely remove stain from wood unfortunately..
