Stroller help for a newborn?

I have 6 months to get a stroller and I want to lay by one asap so i can pay it off over the six months.

I really hate the three wheeler strollers. And i really want to get a four wheeler one. but the ladies at the baby shops have told me that if i do a lot of walking then i should'nt get the four wheelers.

Does any one have a four wheel stroller and find it really great?

I know not to get the plastic tyres and to get the pump up ones cause they are heaps better.

please please help. Im so not up with this what to buy and what not to.

  1. Just a tip-before having my youngest I was dead set against having a 3-wheeler. I hated them, thought they looked awkward. But then I had a go of my baby brothers one (there's 25 years between us!!!) and loved it! They're really easy to push around and great because I walk everywhere. Give one a go-ask if you can push it around the shop maybe?

I had a 4 wheeler with my other 2 children and found it to be good, yes. I'd say they're about the same. Make sure it has swivel wheels at the front though if you go for a 4 wheeler. They do take up less room than a 3 wheeler so if youre limited on space in your house or in the car then 4 wheelers are much better.

    Congratulations on your baby!

  2. Well.... I have a 4 wheel stroller.... and its my wheels during the day..... we only have one car and husband takes it to work.  I take my son all over in it.... we walk to the store everyday or library.... I have put miles on this bad boy.   If you are only going to be using it in town.... on pavement and even ground...... they work great.  If your only going to be walking... they work great.

If you plan on doing a lot of jogging or off-roading.... such as hiking... then I would recommend a 3 wheel stroller.

But just for regular use..... the 4 wheel strollers work just fine.  They are also a LOT cheaper.

  3. I don't think 3 wheelers are better for walking, better for jogging yes but just strolling it doesn't make a difference.

I like Peg Perego for strollers. They are a bit pricey but worth it.

I also have a lower end Graco Quattro Tour and it works perfectly fine. Its been through a lot of walking and public transport as well.

  4. i have a 4 wheeler chicco stroller and walk about 3 hours a day with it, its great. but if you want to jog or run then get a "jogging stroller" so it will hold out and work with you.

  5. My sister has one. The baby is barley two months old. Yes, the four wheeled strollers are bigger but they are great strollers. If its a newborn you will need one that has a car seat attachment. The car seat attachment provides support for his head so that is a must!! I dont think the whole walking thing has anything to do with it. Like i said they are bigger, but not at all akward to push or anything and very comphy for the baby. Just make sure you get one WITH car seat
