Strong emergence of Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton surprises oppositions – NFL News
A couple of games earlier, an onlooker would ignore Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton as an insignificant member of the squad but not so now, as the player’s ability to generate pace and speed in the last two-three games has taken everyone by
surprise.
The player admits he has played a trick on the oppositions who focus Reggie Wayne as the key player and their main target, his keeping low has paid him off to run havoc through their defences. He said he has been enjoying this.
According to Hilton:
"It's been a lot of fun. I love changing games, bringing another dimension to the game. It's all fun."
Even rookie quarterback Andrew Luck has spoken high of Hilton.
Commentators believe the credit of Hilton’s performance goes to coach Bruce Arians, who has a habit of staying patient with young receivers until they find niche to bring themselves at par with senior players.
Arians said:
"He's extremely explosive. I think I'll go back to the Louisville game (last year) where he just blew off the tape catching balls down the middle, catching short passes, making guys miss. Punt returns, kick returns, you knew that in the open field, he was
extremely dangerous, not just top end speed but elusiveness to go with it, and he had solid hands. More than all those things, he's got a great work ethic and humility about him. He's going to be a great pro."
Although the player said he has been enjoying the offensive line, he admits he still has a long way to go. A good thing about him is that he has been observing Wayne closely and picking up things fast. Also, he has been receiving tips and help in other forms
to improve level of his game.
He happens to be another top-notch rookie for the Colts and has helped their victory cause. Along with the QB Luck and Reggie Wayne, he has helped the offensive line to play at a higher pace that unsettles opponents during some crucial plays. This has helped
the team’s cause of rebound on the worst season last year.
