Struggling New York Giants challenge undefeated Green Bay Packers – NFL Week 13 Preview
The undefeated Green Bay Packers will take on the struggling New York Giants in one of the most thrillingly-anticipated fixtures of the National Football League current season on Sunday at the MetLife Stadium.
Packers started their winning course last year and have won 17 straight games. They are determined not to affect their perfection and their quarterback Aaron Rodgers is on hand to see his team through.
Rodgers is undoubtedly the best quarterback of the entire league in this season. In the 11 games he has played, he has an astonishing record of 33 touchdowns and four interceptions, while completing 260 passes of 362 attempts for
3,475 yards.
"It is motivating to go out every week and compete better than you did the previous," Rodgers said. "We have been able to play the way we wanted to play consistently the first 11 games.”
However, Packers are going to face an opponent that is known for ending the winning streaks of the teams it faces. Rodgers knows that Giants cannot be underestimated.
“This is a talented team, their backs are against the wall, they're a game back in the division, they're a game back in the wild card. It's a tough environment. So we're expecting them to play well,” he said.
Three weeks ago, Giants were 6-2 and leading the National Football Conference East division. Now, they are 6-5, and are ranked second in the division, which is now dominated by Dallas Cowboys with a complete one-game lead over
Giants.
Giants must win all the rest of the five games if they want to keep the hopes of reaching the postseason alive.
The main cause of concern for Giants is their struggling defensive line, which is certainly going to be tested against Packers.
To encourage the players, former Giants’ veteran Michael Strahan also visited the camp this week and did some pep-talk with the players, who welcomed the star’s visit.
Giants’ coach Tom Coughlin believes that his team is capable of bouncing back and said that the players are not discouraged by the criticism.
“It is a time for us to be bold and not sit back and listen to what all of you are saying. Rather, just to come out fighting and that is the position we will take," the coach said.
