I'm writing a story about a girl who goes on holiday with her mum and brother, where she meets a strange, mysterious boy...

Anyway, to the point.

I am really struggling to find the place where the story is set. The thing is i had a dream ( that's where i got the inspiration for the story) and we were in an isolated village next to the sea, and it was quite hot. But i have never been to a place like that so i dont have a clue where i should set the story, but it needs to be in a setting like that.

  1. how about that island off of the toe of italys boot - like sicily or crete.

  2. It's always fun to create a place of your imagination. The land that you create is completely YOURS, and no one else's. You can create everything you want in a land that is entirely your own.

But, if you want it in a real, present day enviroment, I suggest the following.

    1. Paris, France

    2. Venice, Italy

    3. Milan, Italy

    4. Kefalonia, Greece

    5. Barcelona, Spain

    Hope this helped.

  3. Maybe in a small resort in mexico, or maybe somewhere in greece( i don't know if it is hot there or not)... wherever it is you need to do a lot of research so your story would be accurate.

  4. what about a greek island or something :)

  5. You don't have to choose a place that actually exists. Thomas Hardy set all his novels In semi-fictional places, and as far as everybody knew they were as real as their own towns.  Just invent a place, the name doesn't matter, the setting is set by your descriptions.
