Stu Ingraham dominates Philly Section PGA
Stu Ingraham has one of the best scoring averages in the sport, and he attributes his success to a solid attitude he has had on the fairways.
The 52-year-old star has long been the top golfer on the Philadelphia Section PGA, which is one of the most challenging sections of the country.
He has not only been named the section’s Senior Player of the Year, but also the golfer with the lowest scoring average. Due to his marvellous show on the section, he has been winning the
DeBaufre Trophy for the past two years.
In an interview Ingraham said: “It’s our Triple Crown, Player of the Year, Senior Player of the Year and DeBaufre Trophy, and nobody had ever done it before I did it last year.
"Then to do it again, it’s been pretty amazing. At age 51 last year and 52 this year, I’ve been playing some great golf".
During the course of a tournament, Ingraham said, “It’s me at 52 and Greg at 61, 113 years combined, in a playoff".
“That was a lot of golf experience between the two of us. The weather made for a difficult situation that week, but it worked out well for me”.
Ingraham grabbed a chance on the Champions Tour by playing and qualifying twice, but came out short both the times after reaching the final stage.
In a statement, he said that there are too many remarkable golfers on the tour, he talked about how experienced they are, saying they just do not give up on the course.
Golfers, these days, have a highly determined attitude on the course, which either puts pressure on them or leads them out of tight situations.
Ingraham, who is also a professional coach, has given more than 800 lessons at M Golf. The Owsik family, which
owns several high-profile businesses, has a strong relationship with the golf veteran, and their partnership has proved be highly fruitful.
He said that the Owsiks have been good to him and along with his coaching he gets the chance to practice his game as well. The Owsik facility, surrounded by a superb locality with picturesque
views, is one of the best ranches in the state.
