It hasn’t been a good start for the Catalan team, Espanyol this season and they are currently struggling in the Spanish league as they failed to win a single match.
At the moment Espanyol are stuck at the bottom of the table with just two points as they managed only two draws and lost five of the opening seven matches of the season so far.
Striker, Christian Stuani, joined the club in the summer from the Italian side, Reggina, after spending loan spells with the Spanish sides Levante, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Racing-c40298 Santander and Albacete for three years.
Stuani greatly appreciates that he was in the agenda of Espanyol and because of that he feels it is important for him to repay the club at this crucial juncture by working hard, proving his worth and finally contributing to his club.
“For me it is very important that I was on Espanyol’s agenda and I want to repay the trust and faith placed in me. They took a chance on me and I want to give them something back,” he stressed.
He also talked about his experience of the club since his arrival hinting that he feels important.
He also stressed on the importance of getting the team out of this difficult period and believes that Espanyol will soon start climbing the table and get out of this mess.
“I’m very happy here because I was received well from the first day and I’ve worked hard to try to adapt to the team quickly. Now the important thing is to get out of the situation we are in.”
Meanwhile, after his experience with other teams, Stuani feels that he is at his peak and he can make his future at his current club.
He also pointed out his ambitions and expectations of this calendar year and believes that he can do better things at Espanyol.
“This year I have high expectations and want to improve on what I’ve done in previous years. I came here at a key age and think I can have a good season,” he concluded.
Espanyol will host Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, October 21, as the Spanish La Liga kicks off.
