Stuart Bingham feels he has played well in 2012 Wuxi Classic – Snooker Update
England’s Stuart Bingham, who claimed his first major ranking title after winning the 2011 Australian Goldfields Open, has cruised his way straight to the final encounter of the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker tournament trouncing compatriot Mark Davis in the
semi-final clash by the score line of 6-5 at the Wuxi Sports Center arena in Wuxi, China.
The semi-final clash seemed in Bingham’s favour as he was in four-frame lead at the end of game’s first session by the score line of 4-0. The Aussie event winner was in tremendous form and it looked like he is going to trash Davis without sweating by a whitewash
score line. However, the tables turned in the second session when Davis performed brilliantly to breeze into four-frame wins to pull level at 4-4.
The final frames were quite tussling because both cuemen were trying their best to get a lead until the last frame. Bingham kept his cool and played steadily to ensure his victory taking two frames. The Englishman believes that he has been performing well
in the event and his slow and steady game-play during the final session of the semi-final encounter was of great help in hitting his victory.
In his post match interview with World Snooker, Bingham said, “It's like being in a boxing ring, punching each other to the ground, but I'm coming out on top. As long as I keep doing that I'm happy. I might look cool, I might look calm, but believe me I'm
shaking like a leaf. I'm trusting myself so when I get a chance I go all-out for it.”
He added, “At 4-0 I was still going for my shots, I wasn't changing my game, but things didn't happen for me.”
Bingham will be facing the winner of the second semi-final encounter between Ricky Walden and Scotland’s Marcus Campbell. Bingham is not worried about his opponent in the final because he is feeling quite confident and believes he can do very well in the
ultimate clash. Bingham will be looking to put in a tremendous effort during the final encounter of the tournament.
