Stuart Bingham not worried about his opponent in 2012 Wuxi Classic final – Snooker Update
Impressive performance from the winner of 2011 Australian Goldfields Open, England’s Stuart Bingham brought him into the semi-final encounter where he was up against compatriot Mark Davis.
Davis also performed brilliantly throughout the tournament to set up Bingham clash in the semi-final stage of the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker tournament at the Wuxi Sports Center arena in Wuxi, China.
The match up went the way it was expected before its start as both potters were very competitive until the finish of the game. The match up was dragged into the decider frame where Bingham triumphed over Davis to claim the semi-final victory.
The Pink Ribbon Pro-am Snooker Tournament winner will face the winner of the second semi-final clash between Ricky Walden and Marcus Campbell. However, the Englishman is not bothered at who he faces in the final because he has his eyes set on the title.
While speaking to World Snooker after his victory, Bingham said, “I think I'm quite lucky to be in the final. Everything changed, I don't know where I pulled those two frames from but now I can look forward to tomorrow and relax. I don't care who I play,
Marcus (Campbell) or Ricky (Walden).”
He added, “Ricky's been to a final so he might be the favourite in that match but like I say, I don't care. If I play how I have been all week, I've got every chance so I'm just looking forward to it now.”
The opening session of the semi-final clash between Davis and Bingham was one of the most tussling encounters at the arena. The first session of the match was dominated by Bingham as he cruised to a 4-0 lead. After that, his opponent, Davis bounced back
into the game with some stunning game-play and pulled level at 4-4.
Davis was in a strong position at that time and needed two frame wins to book his place in the final encounter of the events. However, his hopes were put to the edge by the Englishman as he grabbed two frames to ensure his victory by 6-5. Bingham will be
looking to put in a good performance in the final no matter which player he has to face.
