Recovering from calf and ankle injuries, England fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465, has insisted that he will be completely fit by the time the Poms take on-tour West Indies in the first Test of the three-match home series, starting at Lord’s, London, on May 17,
2012.
The 25-year-old right-arm medium pacer had sustained the injuries during the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in March this year. The calf and ankle injuries not only ruled Broad out of the second and last Test of the short series against the Islanders, but also forced
him to sit out of the ongoing season five of the money spinning Indian Premier, where he was due to represent Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833.
Since returning home with fitness issues, the lanky pacer has been practicing in the nets. Last week he returned to competitive cricket with a County Championship match between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nottinghamshire-c826 and Lancashire, where he claimed three wickets, conceding 67
runs in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806’s second innings.
"I've had absolutely no reaction in terms of my fitness," the Nottingham medium-pacer was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. "I am very glad that the ball started to come out better as the game progressed,” he added further
Ahead of the opening Test against Windies, Broad will have one more County Championship game, against the Andrew Strauss-led Middlesex, to prove his fitness.
