The Pietersen saga took an ugly turn when an account by the name of “KP Genius” was created on the social networking website, mocking the under fire England all-rounder.
Clarifying his position, Broad said, “I would like to confirm that I had no involvement in this whatsoever. I did not play any role in the creation of this account or provide Mr Bailey with any information regarding Kevin Pietersen or the England team.”
“As has been widely reported Mr Bailey is a friend of mine, but we had no conversations regarding this issue at all and I am pleased that he has now decided to close the fake account down," he added.
According to reports, Broad’s friend Richard Bailey created the fake account and it is believed that the pace bowler provided him information regarding Kevin Pietersen.
However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hugh-Morris-c63550, the England and Wales Cricket Board Managing Director seems less keen on taking a disciplinary action against Broad, and in a statement clarified that the lanky pacer had not violated ECB’s rules and regulations.
“Having discussed this matter with Stuart, I am fully satisfied that he acted in a professional manner at all times and did not breach any confidences regarding fellow England players.”
This might not go down well with KP, who has been having a rollercoaster of a relationship with the cricket board since his retirement from one-days back in May.
The batsman touched a nerve by giving a controversial statement regarding his future as a Test player for England because of the difficulties he has to face within the squad.
Consequently, he lost his place in the squad for the third and final Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 at Lord’s, which England desperately need to win in order to save their number-one status in Test cricket.
KP’s exclusion from the national team has not been taken well by many experts, who believe that England are without a doubt a weaker side in the absence of the hard-hitting batsman.
The all-rounder single-handedly helped England draw the second Test at Leeds by bolstering a phenomenal knock of 149 runs at a time when the rest of the English batsmen failed against the Proteas.
