Stuart Broad fearless ahead of England’s match against India in the 2011 ICC World cup
England’s fast bowler Stuart Broad was confident that playing aggressive cricket against the hosts http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, in their second match of the ICC World Cup 2011, will definitely be the key in order to win the match.
England had a very good 2010 season, winning the Twenty20 World Cup at the start of the year, and then ending the year with an Ashes victory against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 on their home soil for the first time in 24 years.
However, things didn’t start well for the Poms at the start of 2011. They had to play a seven-match One Day International (ODI) series against the Kangaroos but the results were not ideal for them.
England lost the series by a 6-1 margin and they also lost one of their best ODI batsmen Eoin Morgan due to a fractured finger. This really jolted their chances for the mega event.
However, the Poms managed to win both their warm-up matches against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Netherlands-c753 in their opening match of the event.
Things will be different this time around as England will face the mighty Indians on 27th February; the Indians are tipped as favourites to win the event.
Broad doesn’t fear the hosts at all and talking to the reporters he said, “We will play the way have played our cricket for the last 18 months - try to be fearless, and if you think a shot's on you take it on. Our batsmen are excited about the opportunity
of facing India's bowlers, they are a world-class team but there's no reason we can't express ourselves like we have done against Pak and SA in the summer.”
Earlier, the promising young all-rounder also claimed to create history by winning the World Cup for the first time. He said that England had reached the final of the mega event on several occasions, but it was time for them to be the Champions this time
around.
The 24-year-old further added that the presence of coach Andy Flower has been great for the team as they have been able to win major tournaments.
Even though India is tipped to win the match against England, the hosts will be given a very hard time by the Poms and the fans can expect a thrilling competiton.
